KEY PROJECT ELEMENTS
Cameron Homes has spearheading an exciting new residential development on the site of a former disused care home, which has now been transformed into a private housing community. Chasetown Civil Engineering has support this project, valued at £1.3 million. It will deliver 18 beautiful new homes, offering a mix of 3-to-5-bedroom dwellings that will provide modern and comfortable living spaces for families. Construction began in June 2023, with completion in October 2024, marking a 16-month timeline for the project.
The site will feature key civil works, including the construction of a substantial Geoman retaining wall along the western boundary, which is a vital element in maintaining the structural integrity of the development. Extensive groundwork is also being carried out to support the foundations of the houses and other essential infrastructure.
Roads and sewers are a critical part of the development. The project team is managing site clearance, the installation of storm and foul water sewers, and the creation of an infiltration basin for water management. Additional infrastructure work includes duct crossings, kerb races, and the full stoning and tarmacking of roads and footpaths to ensure long-lasting, durable surfaces. Service mains and edgings will also be installed, along with driveways and gardens being fully prepared with topsoil to complete the landscaping.
