SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility
At Chasetown Civil Engineering, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is at the heart of everything we do. As a leading civil engineering company, we are committed to creating a positive impact not only through the infrastructure we build but also by fostering sustainable practices, supporting local communities, and promoting environmental stewardship.
We recognise that our work shapes the future, and with that comes a responsibility to prioritise the wellbeing of society, protect the environment, and uphold the highest ethical standards. By integrating CSR into our business strategy, we aim to drive meaningful change and contribute to a better, more sustainable world for future generations.
Our Social Commitment
Chasetown Civil Engineering is proud to play an active role in the local area, facilitating the construction of a new Catholic Church, maintaining local primary schools, car parks for local businesses, plinths for town monuments, local football club sponsorship and the list goes on.
Our employees are actively involved in fundraising challenges, raising substantial sums for causes like Sense, Spark Burntwood, and Birmingham Children's Hospital through events like Jurassic Coast Challenge, the Three Peaks Challenge, and Welsh Three Peaks. These collective efforts have made a significant impact on local communities and charitable organisations.
Alongside supporting our colleagues with their own challenges and match funding their donations, we are proud that our passionate team members are willing to lend a hand, providing first-hand skills, knowledge and experience.
Recent examples include supporting DIY SOS: The Big Build as part of Children in Need 2023. We completed the Groundworks for the works on Treetops Hospice in Derbyshire, providing a bespoke children’s counselling and therapy centre for traumatically bereaved children and young people.
A project we completed very close to our hearts, was a sensory garden for Sense, a charity supporting those with complex disabilities. Noel was a big supporter of Sense, particularly their flagship centre TouchBase Pears in Selly Oak, regularly providing substantial donations to support their mission that everyone should be able to take part in life, no matter their disability. The Sense team asked to honour Noel’s contribution with a sensory garden, and it was only right that we completed the works for the project. We are extremely proud of the end result, an accessible outdoor space providing a relaxing and interactive space for the community.
When our Founder Noel died in 2020, it was obvious to all within his family and business that his unwavering commitment to helping others should carry on. The Noel Sweeney Foundation was set up to seek out ways to support local communities, charities and projects where we can make a difference.

Our Environmental Commitment
Leading with Environmental Responsibility
At Chasetown Civil Engineering, safeguarding the environment is more than a responsibility - it’s a commitment to setting the benchmark in sustainable construction practices. We ensure that every project is undertaken with the utmost care for the natural world. This commitment drives our efforts to balance innovation with sustainability, creating a legacy of progress that respects our planet.
Before the first foundation is laid, Chasetown meticulously assesses potential environmental impacts. Through rigorous preconstruction evaluations and tailored risk assessments, we identify potential challenges and implement strategies to mitigate harm. This proactive methodology ensures not only compliance with environmental regulations but also the preservation of ecosystems in and around our project sites.
Chasetown is steadfast in adopting eco-conscious solutions at every stage of a project. From sourcing eco-friendly materials to employing energy-efficient technologies, we strive to reduce our carbon footprint. By integrating sustainable practices into our core operations, we demonstrate that civil engineering excellence and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.
Central to our environmental initiatives is a commitment to equipping our teams with the knowledge and tools needed to champion sustainability. Comprehensive training programmes keep our workforce informed about the latest advancements in green construction techniques and environmental regulations. This ensures that every team member contributes to minimising ecological impact, reinforcing our position as leaders in responsible construction.
