KEY PROJECT ELEMENTS
Chasetown Civil Engineering partnered with Keon Homes to deliver essential groundworks and external works for a 70-unit extra care apartment project for the Wrekin Housing Group. The £1.41m project required Chasetown to execute enabling works, earthworks, and drainage installation alongside concrete and blockwork to the oversite level. External works included car parks, pathways, and landscaping to ensure the site was fully prepared for the build. Despite challenges such as site boundary constraints and and coordinating with other trades, Chasetown’s expertise and collaborative approach ensured smooth project progression and successful delivery.
The project included extensive enabling works, such as earthworks, preparing haul roads, and constructing crane pads and piling mats. Chasetown installed 500m³ of concrete and 60 tonnes of rebar in ring beams, alongside storm and foul drainage systems. External works included over 1,300m² of tarmac and block paving for car parks and pathways. Quality was a key focus, with material testing and high spec finishes achieved across the site. Drainage designs were optioneered to meet both technical and buildability requirements, demonstrating Chasetown’s commitment to achieving client goals.
Collaboration was central to the project’s success. Chasetown partnered with an adjacent Bloor Homes development to share compound facilities, reducing costs and environmental impact. Enabling works included pre-installing services for the compound, delivering energy efficiencies for both sites. Zero harm was achieved on the project, which also finished ahead of schedule, reinforcing Chasetown’s reputation for reliability and excellence in civil engineering.
