KEY PROJECT ELEMENTS

Chasetown Civil Engineering was proud to work on an exciting development at Castle Donington, Derby, a project that reflected our continued commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure. This £8.7m consortium project was a collaboration between Miller Homes, Redrow Homes, and Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd, and is set to significantly enhance the local area.

The scope of work included the construction of approximately 2.4 kilometres of single carriageway road, along with four Section 278 roundabout improvements at key junctions: Back Lane, Short Lane, Park Lane, and Hill Top. In addition to these critical roadworks, the project required the diversion of several high voltage power cables, a complex task necessary to facilitate the new road construction. This new road provides essential infrastructure for a planned development of around 600 new homes, a new school, and an industrial zone, all situated near the airport, offering improved access and connectivity.

A significant part of this project involved the excavation and removal of approximately 160,000m³ of earth, a challenge that Chasetown Civil Engineering has managed in-house. We are proud to have self-delivered the entire project, ensuring full control over quality and efficiency throughout the build. The only aspects subcontracted to specialists were the installation of streetlighting, road signage, and white lining, ensuring that these elements meet the highest standards.

This development is an important step in supporting the growth of Castle Donington and the surrounding area, and Chasetown Civil Engineering is excited to contribute to its success.
